A Biblical Approach

About

With faith as the foundation, I believe in using a biblical approach when helping others become a better version of themselves. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, or other problems we face as humans, the Bible offers guidance and transformative solutions.

I believe in the Bible and its truth laid out in scripture. Its usefulness for living a full and purposeful life is clear, evident, and necessary. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12)

I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field with adolescents and adults. No matter what someone is facing it all starts with having a strong foundation. Let me help you get started in becoming your best YOU for your good, the good of others, and ultimately God's glory!

  • Psychotherapy is a process for treating varying levels of emotional distress through verbal and nonverbal communication between a client and a trained psychotherapist. It requires active effort on your part as the client, working with your therapist to identify problems, develop goals, and take action. Clients normally experience a range of reactions following sessions — from uncomfortable feelings to a sense of relief and accomplishment. As long as you engage in the process, psychotherapy can lead to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress.

  • No. At Carter's Counseling, we do not prescribe medication. Typically, clients see a psychiatrist or physician in network with their health insurance, or we can refer you to someone if you feel medication is needed.
